A dependent condition (or subordinate provision) is a proviso that can't remain solitary as a total sentence since it doesn't communicate a total idea.

Independent clause

An  independent condition is a provision that can remain solitary as a sentence (i.e., it communicates a total idea). A reliant conditions (or subordinate statement) is one that can't remain solitary as a total sentence (i.e., it doesn't communicate a total idea).
