Types of modern classification of noun :-
1) proper name
2) Countable noun
3) Uncountable noun
1) proper name :-
A proper noun is that the name of a selected person, animal, place or a thing.
Ex :- Ram, Sita, Kolkata, India and etc.
2) Countable noun :-
The noun which can be counted is known as the countable noun.
Ex :- cow, dog, book, tree, boy, teacher, class, family and etc.
3) Uncountable noun :-
The noun which cannot be counted is known as the uncountable noun.
Ex :- water,milk, oil, rice, beauty, honesty and etc.
Important points :-
1) In new classification the mixture of noun and noun is known as "countable noun" and thus the mixture of abstract noun and material noun is known as "Uncountable noun".
2) When a countable noun is singular number then before it a/an is used .
As, A boy or an elephant and etc.
3) Countable noun's plural forms are, boys, cats, dogs and etc.
4) Before a uncountable noun neither a/an nor plural forms are used. As, A tea, an oil, oils are absolutely wrong. If plural is used then the word's meaning changes.
5) Roti could also be a countable noun within the Hindi language. But within English ' bread is Uncountable Noun'. Therefore, provides a bit of bread instead of giving a bread in English. Four pieces of bread.
